Citizenship
As SYZters, we aim to "lead from the front" -- to take initiative and lead by example. Through our actions, we hope to inspire others to be their best selves. For example, we hope to encourage others to engage in community service by participating in it ourselves. In the past, we have volunteered at Campus Kitchens, Mother's Day volunteering with Susan G. Komen, The Stride Against Violence 5K, Omega Delta Phi's César Chávez Commemorative Day of Service, and Evanston Public Library. Many of our sisters also volunteer outside of these organized events, such as at Presence St. Francis Hospital, or have leadership positions outside of the sorority, thus extending our reach to those outside the Greek community. In addition, we require 25% of our members to undergo QPCR training. Lastly, we raise money to local nonprofits that benefit our philanthropy, such as Sarah's Circle and KAN-WIN.
